How we classify a connection

Documented — Government or civil recordArchival — Museum, library or archive holdingOral tradition — Recorded oral historyScholarly — Academic researchCommunity contribution — Submitted by descendants or community membersUnverified — Requires further research

Oral tradition is recorded faithfully and attributed to the person who gave it. A research hypothesis is labelled as such. Nothing is promoted to “documented” without a citable record.

isiZulu & izibongo

Izibongo
