⚔️ 1873
Coronation of Cetshwayo
What happened
After Mpande's death Cetshwayo was installed as king, with a separate ceremony attended by Theophilus Shepstone for the Natal government. Draft awaiting expert review.
What is uncertain
Colonial records stress Shepstone's role; Zulu accounts give the Zulu installation precedence.
